Call To Order:

Glen Carbon Library Board President Kathy Dortch calls the July Glen Carbon Library Board meeting to order at 7:06 PM.

Accept/Correct June Glen Carbon Library Board Minutes:

There were no corrections to be made. Dave Jobe motions to accept June Glen Carbon Library Board Meeting minutes, Lisa Novak seconds. The motion passes unanimously.

Director's Report - Anne Hughes (Kathy Dortch delivered this report):

Glen Carbon Library Director Anne Hughes is currently interviewing Pages for the Library. The two current Pages (Rachel and Laura) at the Glen Carbon Library are leaving to return to their colleges. The two new Pages will be hired and trained in August.

The annual maintenance for the sprinkler system at the Glen Carbon Library has been scheduled.

Homebound delivery for the Glen Carbon Library has been decreased from twice a month to once a month.

Treasurer's Report - Gary True:

Gary reports the bills for the Glen Carbon Library for June, 2011 were $31,023.69. Dave Jobe motions to pay the bills for June in the above amount, Susan Mendelsohn seconds.

Finance Committee - Gary True: No report.

Personnel Committee - Ben Beyers

The Board was informed of the resignation of Circulation Manager, Michelle Petersen.
The library board discussed and set a salary range and benefits for the position of Circulation Manager.

District Committee - Susan Mendelsohn:

The Committee was informed by Mayor Rob Jackstadt that not only the land that the Glen Carbon Library sits on is the Village of Glen Carbon's, but also the Library building itself. The Glen Carbon Library was financed through sewer bonds. These bonds are not due to be paid off until 2023. The committee will investigate these Bonds and their payoff and find out who is in receipt of the Deed of the Glen Carbon Library.

The committee while researching for the library becoming a District has identified possible savings for some library expenses.

Unfinished Business:

Sick Leave policy revision - This was tabled until the August 2011 Glen Carbon Library Board meeting.
